METROROCK CLIMBING SCHOOL
GET OUT THERE.
ABOUT US
MetroRock believes in nurturing the complete climber. We hope that for many, the gym is just the start. We know that for a lot of people, the true allure of climbing is the promise of adventure, and connection to the natural world. We open the door to the wide world of climbing outside, step outside with us!
Our team of instructors live, work, and climb here. We know, and love our local crags, and we think you will too!
Our goal is to help you reach yours. Whether that’s a first outdoor climbing experience, or preparing for the trip of a lifetime, we’d love to climb with you.
Meet OUR INSTRUCTOrS
-

Joe Santo
AMGA Certified Instructor
Adventure climbing and snow sliding enthusiast, Joe has a passion for alpine movement and technical objectives. More often, you’ll find him romping at Red Rocks, pebble wrestling in Pawtuckaway, falling off Crow Hill’s Fisherman’s wall, or clipping bolts in Rumney. He likes those things a lot too!
-

Scott Waller
AMGA Certified Instructor
Scott is a lifelong educator who loves working with clients both on and off the wall. Whether it is a new skill, a sweet climbing technique or the simple understanding that getting to the top is not always the point, he firmly believes there is a lesson to be learned whenever you go out climbing. You can often find Scott romping around the crags at Rose Ledge or desperately slapping up blocks in Lynn Woods. Let’s learn something new!
-

Jared Hierman
AMGA Certified Instructor
Jared started climbing for the adventure but stayed for the personal challenge. He loves long climbs and exploring the beautiful and unique places climbing grants him access to. Climbing also allows Jared to explore the fear and stress inherent to the sport while maintaining control over his environment. He hopes to continue his journey by becoming an apprentice rock guide so he can share the joy of multi-pitch climbing.
-

Casey Robidoux
AMGA Certified Instructor
Casey started climbing at MetroRock in 2021 and was hooked from day one. He’s grown a passion for sport climbing across the east coast, especially in areas like Rumney and the Red River Gorge. During the summer you can find Casey instructing on the granite sea cliffs of Acadia.
