Experienced Climbers

MetroRock is proud to be part of the New England climbing community and we welcome you to our gyms. Whether your goal is to advance a few grades or just enjoy some routes, we've got you covered!

Each MetroRock facility features terrain for bouldering, top-rope, and lead climbing. As for training, we have we have fitness equipment, training areas with system walls, hangboards, campus rungs. We feature training programs, advanced technique classes, and personal training to help you become a better climber.

To get started on our bouldering terrain, first time visitors need to fill out a waiver, grab some gear if you need it, a quick orientation and you’re all set. You'll be topping out within five minutes of your arrival.

For top-rope climbing, we require a free belay test to prove that your knot tying and equipment use are up to par. The test will be taken using a UIAA approved belay device of your choosing, and we require retraced figure eight knots with at least six inches of tail or finishing knot.

Lead climbers will need to take an additional test to prove that you can safely take and catch a fall, clip properly and climb confidently on the sharp end. The test will be given on a 5.9 route using a UIAA approved belay device of your choosing. You need to provide your own rope for lead climbing in our facilities. Unique features like “the Arch” and “Gnarnia” will challenge you in ways modern gym designs cannot.

Our TC area hosts open level boulders fit for the strongest comp climbers. This whole section is dedicated to catering to the high end climber. We also offer a spray wall, Tension Board 1, Kilter Board, Moon Board and Campus rungs.

New boulders are typically set on Mondays, while new rope climbs on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

See you on the wall!
