MetroRock is pleased to offer Yoga classes on a regular basis. Classes are taught by experienced yoga instructors who also share the passion of climbing. This allows them to focus-in on strengthening and stretching core muscles used in the sport. Yoga practice will help you increase flexibility, strength and mental focus; all vital elements to improve your climbing abilities!

We are psyched to introduce the Fall Brawl to the VT climbing community. Get ready for an open qualifying round with divisions at all levels of climbing--youth, adults, pros, beginners and everything in between! In the evening, prepare yourselves for a finals round like you've never seen before!

Calling all College Students: You are invited to hang with us all night long for climbing, games and fun!

For once, you won't have to leave the gym at closing time; the only thing stopping your session is sleep. With padded floors all over the place, you can literally crash where you land!

There will be games, movies, food and a pajama contest with prizes for the best sleepwear (nothing naughty!)

With the winter on the horizon here in New England is there a route that you can't wait to try in the spring? A style of climbing you want to get better at this winter? A weakness you want to improve?

Whether you've just started climbing or have been for 20 years, one of the most exciting things is experiencing progression in this sport we all love! With an amazing new training area, Metrorock Station has all the tools necessary to begin a continuous improvement towards your goals. But how to use all those tools, the hangboard, campus board, system walls, etc?

Trad Climber (421)

Are you passionate about climbing, but still find yourself yearning for something more? Looking for a way to go deeper into the sport? Prepare to rack-up and delve into the mysteries of traditional lead climbing! Learning traditional climbing  will open a door to limitless possibilities for accessing climbing routes both locally and around the world. This 2 Day Course will include the instruction and practical application necessary to take the first steps in the Trad Climbing world. 

We will teach you:

  • Proper Lead Technique
  • Placing Gear
  • Setting Anchors
  • Safety Instruction and Hazard Evaluation
  • Route Finding

  • Risk analysis for outdoor lead climbing
  • Sport climbing tricks such as speedy anchor cleaning and stick-clipping

Top Rope Manager (221)

Ready to start climbing outside on your own, but unsure how to start? Want to learn the skills to be able to confidently take your friends and family out for a day of toproping?

Our Top Rope Manager Class is an intensive class that will teach you the fundamental concepts of building top rope anchor systems. 

In this class you will learn:

  • How to use specialized climbing safety equipment such as rope, webbing, carabiners, removable and fixed protection.
  • How to tie specialized climbing knots such as the bowline, clove hitch and the ring bend.
  • How to safely identify and use different anchor points.
  • The basic concepts of a safe top rope anchor system.
  • How to build different top rope anchor systems.

Location: Local crags located anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour drive from Boston.

Crack School (205)

Learn one of the most important outdoor climbing techniques. Crack climbing! Spend a day with one of our experienced instructors building your crack climbing skill set. We'll tackle every size and talk about the secrets to becoming a confident and competent crack climber.


In this class you will:

  • Learn the specific techniques for every size crack
  • Climb many different sized cracks
  • Learn how to protect your hands with climbing tape

Let's go climb some ICE! The Ice Climber class is a full one-day class designed for climbers with some experience (either indoors or outdoors) to come experience the thrill of climbing frozen water! Never climbed outside before? Great! Use this class as a great way to experience outdoor climbing for the first time! Looking to improve your ice climbing technique? Come join us! Our instructors will help you hone those ice climbing skills!
In this class you will learn:

  • How to use ice climbing equipment
  • Safe Climbing
  • Movement and Technique

Location: Depending on conditions, we will meet at one of several great ice climbing crags in Southern New Hampshire and the White Mountains. Dress in warm layers!
